Author Update April 2019

Hello all,

It’s been a little while. I have been so busy writing that I have not had time to write an update, but I decided to take some time to let you all know what’s been happening over these past few months.

My sci-fi novella, Praelium, made it into the Top 25 of the 2018 ScreenCraft Cinematic Book Competition. I am a little bummed that I did not make it any further, but at the same time it was a blessing and encouragement to have made it as far I did! I am hoping to submit Praelium to other contests in the future. Perhaps it will make it further in them. Who knows?

As for the big guy, Battle Scars is going great. It has been fun to return to the characters that I created in Battle Lines and thrust them into new situations. I am currently ten chapters in to the second draft (potentially a third of the book), so I’m still hopeful that Battle Scars will be released later this year! There are a lot more characters and moving pieces in this second book, as it mainly follows the perspective of Banju and two other characters. It’s a lot to keep track of, but so far I seem to be keeping it straight.

The audiobook for Battle Lines is also going well. I have been able to listen to some of what the narrator has done, and it is surreal to hear the characters come alive in ways that they never have before. The process is taking a little longer than expected, so it’s looking like the audiobook will be released either late this spring or sometime this summer. I will keep you posted as I learn more.

That’s all for now, but check back soon for more details on Battle Scars!

Until next time,

Andrew Furstenberg
